I have taken a lot of time, scribbling in my notebook the words that will become the first book in The FrVeges series – 1979 PeachHatten. I’ve now typed out the story and I’m getting closer to self publishing. Wish me luck?!
This Sunday (Sept 21st, 2014) from 11am-3pm, I will be vending out at the Iowa Author’s Fest. I’m a fair bit nervous to say this is my first Author’s fest, and I will be among my own “wolf pack!” There will be 40 other authors and a few artists too. I’m also very excited to be joined by so many great and talented people.
Come out and see some of the FrVeges Series: Iowa Author’s Fest Info
I’ve been working very hard to reach the goal of having a book published by Christmas 2014, and so I’d like to share with you another excerpt from Book 1 – 1979 PeachStone:
Opposite the sitting area, there was a small door that lead to Jaxson’s office. Jaxson was a neat owner and a person, so his office was not anything to talk about, except the one thing he considered most valuable, in the monetary sense.
Jaxson had visited the Capitol of PeachHatten years before, to get his business license, like every other resident of the city was required to do. This day was special, because of who he met. This fine day, while Jaxson was walking up the steps of the Capitol, a large thug of an ant came dashing out of the building. You see, the ants had already began to take over the city. Jaxson, that fine day, decided to do something, anything, everything! Jaxson simply stepped out in front of the running ant. The ant and Jaxson rolled down the stairs together and Jaxson happened to land on top of the brute of an ant. The ant quickly dropped what he had in his hand and got up from the altercation and ran off. Jaxson picked up the item and ran into the court house with what the aunt had dropped. He never even bothered to look at what the item was, but he knew it had to be of great importance or valuable to someone in the Capitol Building. He burst into the front doors like any hero would.
Hope you all enjoy my stories.

Morton’s feathers have challenged me greatly, but I think he is slowly coming together. Here’s a work in progress photo:
I proudly introduce the Mayor of Peachatten. Mr. King Banana is a very proud Mayor and in the FrVeges Series he is a highly respected Gorilla, who saves Jaxson P. Mutt from a bit of pickle of wrong identity!
Morton is coming to life… I hope to have him finished to show him a local Halloween Show.
Meet Morton the “Collector.” Morton is my latest character in The FrVeges series who brings Jaxson a very important book to buy! Now to begin to paint him and put in the bright red feathers. He is a red feathered vulture after all!
As I prepare for the Iowa State Fair next week, I’m writing again and the words are flowing like that of the smoke from the Genie’s bottle, right before the Genie appears. Tonight excerpt from the FrVeges Short Stories comes from 1979 Peachstone. In describing the couch in the Children’s section of Jaxson’s Book-A-Torium:
Tucked in a nook behind the second step, is a wonder-minded sitting area for children and adults. There sat a very large but stiff red velvet couch. It was the old fashioned kind, stained with cherries to get the faded red color and even though the couch had a stiff upper back, it was nice and squishy where it counted: in the seat. The top was lined with gold upholstery tacks that had so much dirt ground into them, they looked black. The gold tacks also lined the side arms.
The matching chair, with a tall stiff back, made you feel that a giant plum was encroaching on you when you sat in it, but that was not a deterrent for most.
The best part of this area was the giant treasure chest that sat at the couch’s end. It was filled with wonderful items, like an entire set of marionette puppets, one of them was a worm dressed as a king. There were other worshiping worms too.
Hope everyone enjoys the stories so far. Come see me at the Iowa State Fair – August 11-14th. Art-Under-The-Tent.
